Description
Evoqua operates a fully equipped carbon testing laboratory that uses ASTM, AWWA, and internally developed standard test methods to fully characterize virgin, spent, and reactivated carbons. Our laboratory is certified for environmental testing of hazardous solid wastes including ignitability, corrosivity, toxicity characteristic leaching procedure (TCLP), inorganic metals, and organics by EPA methods 8010, 8020, 8021, TPH, 8240, and 8260. Wastewater fields of testing include inorganic metals and organics by EPA methods 601, 602, and 624. Learn more about our pilot and media testing capabilities.
The proper sizing of activated carbon adsorber beds for the removal of contaminants from a gas or aqueous stream requires and estimation of GAC usage rates. Evoqua has developed computer modeling that makes GAC usage estimates quick, easy and reliable. Aqueous phase predictions are made from our database that contains Freundlich parameters for over 250 Compounds. Gas phase usage predictions use critical property data for over 550 volatile compounds to predict the effect of concentration, temperature, pressure, flow rate and relative humidity.
GAC usage rate data can be obtained through laboratory Treatability Testing. For water applications, treatability tests are conducted based upon the bottle point isotherm method and rapid small-scale column testing (RSSCT).
