Pool Uptime Restored for Senior Wellness Center with Blu-Sentinel™ Controller

Dedicated to reinventing how people age, senior wellness center Evergreen Commons needed a reliable pool water treatment system that also delivered cost and efficiency savings.

Challenge

Helping those 55 plus live long and die short, Evergreen Commons exists to inspire people to have purposeful, active, and holistic lives through wellness, community connection, care, and support. The multipurpose facility sits at the heart of the West Michigan community and plays a vital role in the lives of over 5,000 local resident members. Its spa and pool facilities are much-loved by members who swim and join aquatics classes, and the pool is also home to physical therapy sessions.

With over 200 pool users a day, Evergreen Commons needed a controller that ensured consistency of water quality for its members who rely on access to the pool. The team also was looking to reduce maintenance time as well as manage chemical costs.

Solution

Following consultation with their local aquatics representative, Evergreen Commons selected the Blu-Sentinel™ SE controller. The controller forms a complete pool water management system, measuring free chlorine concentration, temperature, ORP, conductivity and pH values. Key for Evergreen Commons is the controller supporting its dosing pumps for accurate, efficient, and automated chemical control. The Blu-Sentinel SE controller was also selected for its ease of use to minimize time required by busy staff at the center. The controller features a simple to use touch screen and has an LED-backlit flow cell to enable quick status indication.

Results

The installation of the Blu-Sentinel SE controller was a huge success for Evergreen Commons. All project objectives were met, including improving and ensuring consistency of pool water quality, reducing maintenance time, and reducing chemical costs. Overall, this has contributed to a more sustainable and cost-effective operation. Importantly, the controller has delivered increased uptime for the pool, which is critical as it is relied on by so many members for their health and well-being.
